Shyam Suryanarayanan
Founder and CEO

Shyam has over 10 years of experience in high octane entrepreneurial environments across the Retail, Software and HR Sectors. He has been a part of the fiercely competitive ‘Recruitment Industry’ for the past 5 years and strongly lives by the dictum of ‘Continuous Innovation combined with strong execution capabilities’ is the essence of creating a successful business. Shyam holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and an MBA from the International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi.

Dr. S. Anand Kumar
Honorary Scientific Advisor

Dr. Kumar is the Director Emeritus of AstraZeneca Research Foundation India. Dr. Kumar obtained the Ph.D degree (1963) in Biochemistry from the Indian Institute of Science and received post doctoral training (1963-1966) at Tufts University Medical School, Boston and the Scripps Clinic & Research Foundation, LaJolla, Calif. He worked as a Senior Research Fellow (1967-1971) at the Indian Institute of Science, Guest Scientist (1971-1972) at Roche Institute of Molecular Biology Nutley NJ, Asstt Professor at the City University of New York (1972- 1978) and later (1978-1988) as Senior Research Scientist for the New York State Department of Health in Albany, New York. He held a joint appointment initially as Associate Professor and later as Professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at the Graduate School of Public Health Sciences, State University of New York(SUNY) Albany, NY. He also served as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Chemistry at SUNY, Albany. NY. He has been associated with AstraZeneca ( formerly Astra) since 1988. Dr. Kumar is a founding member of several Foundations and Companies in India and abroad. To name a few, MIHR- Management of Intellectual Property for Health Resources, a non-Profit Trust in Oxford UK and also of AstraZeneca Research Foundation India-a non profit society endowed by AstraZeneca. Companies founded include Syngene International, Bangalore Genei, and Gangagen Biotechnologies (all in Bangalore).

Dr. Kumar has served on the Committee for Commercialization of Biotechnology, UNIDO Vienna, Austria and the Research Advisory Committee of the P.D.Hinduja National Medical Research Institute, India; the Medical Biotechnology Task Force, Government of India and the Indo-US Vaccine Action Programme Apex Committee. Now, he is a member of the Expert Committee for Biologicals of the Unites States Pharmacopeia and a member on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Indian Pharmacopeia Commission



Dr.Gayatri Saberwal
Honorary Advisor

Dr. Gayatri Saberwal did her PhD in the life sciences at the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. She then did post-doctoral work at at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University, New York.

She has been involved with the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology since its establishment in 2001, and has held various responsibilities. Since 2003 she has been spearheading the entrepreneurship activities at the institute. Her group researches the biotech and pharma industries (in India and abroad).

 

Deepak Srinivasan
Member Board of Directors; Advisor – Marketing, Strategy;

Deepak helped incubate C-Drive HR Services and define its early positioning and strategy, contributing key web 2.0 innovations such as candidate “visibility without identity”. He serves on the Board and actively advises on strategy, brand and positioning as well as vertical markets.

He has spent the last decade innovating in the area of consumers, devices and interactive media. He has leadership experience in building and launching end-to-end consumer products and services, bringing discipline, obsession and a rare enthusiasm to craft the perfect consumer experience. He has at various times been entrepreneur, mentor and ‘suited’ executive sharing with delight and aplomb the wins and surprises of many of the businesses he was privileged to be part of. Though ready to do his bit in what needs doing, he prefers to play to his strengths in marketing, business and brand strategy, strategic sales and product management.

He now shares his time between Bangalore and Silicon Valley, helping incubate and mentor startups in the mobile and internet space with a fondness for natural 2.0 applications. Since 2006, Deepak helped incubate the Kamla Bhatt Show, an online radio portal hosted by Kamla Bhatt, that focuses on the India diaspora and continues to advise in marketing, BD and content strategy. From Aug '07 through Jan '08, Deepak headed Mobiance, a location based services company. From 2005 – 2007, as VP of Product Management at 24/7 Real Media, Deepak is responsible for the coordination of product management, product marketing, and product innovation worldwide, exiting after the acquisition by WPP. Prior to this, Deepak was with Reliance Infocomm (India) and was involved in planning and engineering for a multi-million home Video-over-IP rollout. Before moving to Reliance, Deepak co-founded Enscaler Inc., a provider of middleware, applications and services for rights managed and secure streaming media. As CEO, Deepak grew Enscaler to multi-million dollar revenues with over 40 Fortune 1000 clients in enterprise, education and entertainment. Deepak's past experience also includes working with Sharewave, a wireless home networking chip startup, and Elcom Technologies, a home networking startup, during which time he launched several consumer electronics products into North American retail, OEM and service provider channels.

Anand Agrawal
Advisor - Technology and Product Management

Anand helped incubate C-Drive HR Services and has been responsible for product managing the offering from early on as well as implementing the innovative “visibility without identity” design in a scalable architecture.

Anand is a technology and product development enthusiast with a strong passion for web/mobile, media and entrepreneurship. With his strong background in technology and product management, Anand has helped several startups in accelerating product realization with end to end product ownership- from gathering and organizing market requirements to developing product requirements; defining product roadmaps and working with marketing and other internal teams to deliver products.

Since 2006, Anand has advised the The Kamla Bhatt Show where he helped develop a complete user experience for the Kamla Bhatt Show, resulting in a highly interactive platform, since awarded the "Best Designed Online Radio Site" by PC World in 2008. Anand is also involved in business development, content syndication, licensing and co-marketing of the show’s content to large media companies in India and elsewhere. Anand is currently working with a technology company in Bangalore. In the past, Anand has also worked with the product management team of Mobiance Technlologies, an IIT Bombay incubated startup providing mobile location based services. At Mobiance, Anand helped conceptualize a comprehensive product strategy and prototyped a complete product for location based mobile marketing using Mobiance's location technology for GSM Mobile phones.
